Ep.13 - Matthew Struski - The Jinx

May 23, 2016
It seems appropriate for our 'lucky' 13th episode to have Matthew Struski, aka Matty, and his story of a terrifying jinx. They say life is but a game, but we're not so sure that this is what they meant....  (This story is also on YouTube.

Matty Struski is a stay at home Dad/Introvert who is trying to reconnect with his creative side and conquer his increasingly present social anxiety. Before becoming a father, Matty racked up 17 years in the entertainment business as a Production Manager. Originally from Boston, he relocated to Los Angeles but remained an avid Boston sports fan. You can currently find Matty spending time with his lovely wife, Valerie, or at the park with his daughter, trying to avoid making eye contact with people. Thanks to Lynn for making storytelling such an enjoyable experience! was started by Lynn Ferguson after becoming embroiled in the storytelling community in Los Angeles. If you love this form of storytelling then you’ve probably already heard of The Moth on Public Radio and maybe you’ve seen Lynn tell stories and host events for The Moth.

YouTellYours is based on the realisation that the techniques of storytelling for books and plays and films, sub plots, story arcs and the like… aren’t as immediately relevant to spoken word storytelling. Lynn first started teaching classes in the Sidewalk Studio Theatre in Burbank and now, using the same techniques and exercises, we’ve added an online course so that no matter where you live, you can learn to tell your story, and get yourself heard, without notes, props or the dreaded Powerpoint.
